Byrd Coaching LLC, doing business as Roost Strategies (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operates the Roost Strategies membership, our website at rooststrategies.com, and our Discord community known as The Flock. We respect your privacy and want to be clear about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices and your rights.
By joining the membership, signing up on our website, or subscribing to our email list, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Give Us
When you purchase a membership, sign up on our website, or contact us, we may collect:
Your name and email address
Billing address (collected by Whop at checkout)
Payment information (processed and stored by Whop; we never see or store your full card number)
Anything you choose to share in the Community, in live sessions, or in messages to us
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit rooststrategies.com, we or our service providers may automatically collect:
IP address and general location
Browser type and device information
Pages visited, time on page, and how you found our site
Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5)
1.3 Information from Third-Party Platforms
When you join through Whop and connect to our Discord server, we may receive:
Your Discord username and user ID
Your membership status, plan, and join and cancellation dates from Whop
Your activity in our Discord channels, such as messages and participation
1.4 Members of Our Prior Community
Roost Strategies is run by the same team that ran The Ultimate Discord. If you were a member or email subscriber of The Ultimate Discord, the information you provided there, such as your name, email address, and Discord account, has carried over to Roost Strategies and is handled under this policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
To process your membership and manage your account
To give you access to lessons, trade alerts, live sessions, and the Community
To send transactional emails, such as purchase confirmations, access instructions, and billing notices
To send trade alerts and member communications
To send marketing and educational emails, if you are on our email list
To respond to your questions and support requests
To keep the Community safe, including detecting scams, spam, and impersonation
To enforce our Terms of Service and Community rules
To improve the membership and member experience
To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only as described below.
3.1 Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services to run the membership. Each handles your data under its own privacy policy:
Whop (whop.com): membership management, payments, course hosting, and live sessions
Discord (discord.com): our community platform
Wick (a Discord moderation bot): automated security and moderation within our Discord server
Mailchimp (mailchimp.com): email lists, trade alert emails, and member and marketing emails
Zapier (zapier.com): automatically passing your name and email from Whop to Mailchimp when you join
Google Workspace (google.com): our business email
Netlify (netlify.com): hosting for rooststrategies.com
We encourage you to review these providers’ privacy policies directly.
3.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
3.3 Business Transfers
If Byrd Coaching LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email or Community announcement if that happens.
4. Email Communications
When you join through Whop, your name and email address are automatically added to our Mailchimp list. People who sign up on our website are added to the same list. You may receive emails from addresses at rooststrategies.com, including scott@, alerts@, and hello@.
Emails you may receive include:
A welcome sequence when you join or sign up
Trade alerts, if you are a member
Announcements, updates, and educational content
Offers related to Roost Strategies
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. Please note: trade alerts are sent through the same email system. If you unsubscribe, you may also stop receiving trade alerts by email. Trade alerts are also posted in our Discord server, so you can still see them there. Unsubscribing does not cancel your membership; to cancel, use your Whop account. You may still receive transactional messages related to your membership and billing.
If your membership ends, you will stop receiving trade alerts and member-only emails, and your access to our Discord server will end. You will remain on our general email list for announcements and offers unless you unsubscribe.
5. Cookies and Tracking
Our website and service providers may use cookies and similar technologies:
Essential cookies: needed for the website and checkout to work
Analytics: to help us understand how visitors use our site, such as page views and traffic sources
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of our site or checkout work. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
6. Live Sessions and Recordings
Live sessions, coaching sessions, and Q&A sessions may be recorded and made available to members for a limited time. If you speak, appear on camera, or post in a session’s chat, your name or username, voice, image, and comments may appear in the recording. If you prefer not to appear, you may attend without participating.
7. Data Retention
We keep your personal information while your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. After you cancel, your data may remain in our systems for up to 24 months before being deleted or anonymized, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 9).
8. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.
We strongly encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Whop and Discord accounts and to turn on two-factor authentication. Roost staff will never ask for your password or login codes. We are not responsible for breaches caused by third-party platforms or by your own account security practices.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
Deletion: ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements
Opt out of marketing: unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
Data portability: request your data in a portable format where technically possible
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days. Some rights may be limited where we have a legitimate legal reason to keep or process your data, such as an active membership or a legal requirement.
10. International Users
Roost Strategies is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using our services, you consent to that transfer.
We do not specifically target residents of the European Union and do not represent that we comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are an EU resident with concerns about your data, please contact us.
11. Children’s Privacy
Roost Strategies is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
12. Third-Party Links
Our website, emails, and Community may link to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies before sharing any personal information.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active members by email or Community announcement before the changes take effect, and we will post the updated policy with a new effective date. Continuing to use our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
